Why are there two “Insight Software” folders in my Documents folder?
Macro Express Pro creates these two folders:
C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Insight Software
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Insight Software
In the Windows File Explorer these appear to have the same name. Explorer displays their paths as:
Libraries -> Documents -> Insight Software
Libraries -> Documents -> Insight Software
This behavior is a feature of Windows Libraries.
Files in C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Insight Software are available only to the logged in user.
Files in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Insight Software are available to all users of the specific computer.
Some of the information that Macro Express Pro stores in files is meant to be available to all users of a specific computer. Information about crashes, for instance.
Some of the information that Macro Express Pro saves in files is meant to be available only to a specific logged in user. For example, information stored in the Temporary Capture, Favorites and Snippets files.
